2020 has been a busy year so far for Northern Diver International’s Military Division. Earlier on in the year, we hosted at our Headquarters in Appley Bridge one of our respected and long standing overseas Military Clients to conduct training and acceptance on the INCURSION Military Re-Breathers that we have provided under contract. Specialist Military Diving Instructors visited and spent 7 days with us training and conducting the acceptance process of the purchase of the INCURSION Military Re-Breathers that we have successfully provided under contract.
The package was developed to provide in depth training with the Incursion Re-Breathers. The training envelope covered classroom talks, controlled pool sessions and open water training. The course allowed the Instructors to take the training back to their own country and further train trainers within their organization. Maintenance and technician courses were conducted at our training facility in-house at Northern Diver.
Two days were spent in the pool conducting familiarization of the sets within a controlled environment and practicing training drills. One of the unique safety features of the INCURSION is the ability to completely flood the system, flush out water from the loop and then continue to operate. This scenario was taught in the pool along with other skills necessary for the operation of the chest mount INCURSION.
The course was completed in the challenging winter conditions of the UKs chilly Open Water in the North of England allowing the operators to train under extreme temperate conditions at depth. The highly skilled instructors were not fazed by the cold conditions and triumphantly completed the course wearing Northern Divers Military Semi Dry Wetsuits in 9degrees temperatures.
Since returning home and taking delivery of the INCURSION Chest Mount Re-Breathers in country, the team are very happy with the equipment provided and successfully using the kit for training and operational purposes. Since the visit earlier in the year, Northern Diver now have the training and test tank operational and ready on-site in the Appley Bridge to allow us to conduct future training packages on-site.
