It's that time of year again...
DIVE 2018 - what, where, who?
Many divers know and love the UK's DIVE event, but in case you've yet to discover it or are new to diving, it's the UK's largest dive show and has been held every year since 1991.
Organisers of the show DIVER Magazine know a thing or two about diving, and year upon year the show is packed with attractions that draw divers from the UK, Europe and further afield.
Located at Birmingham's NEC, you can find virtually every piece of kit demanded by today's sport diver at the show, with the latest equipment from the world's leading diving brands and plenty of stock available to purchase. Plus, many a good deal can be sought out!
Those who take a camera below the surface will want to check out the Photozone, a section dedicated to all things underwater photography. Meet with experts who can help you improve your photos, discover new pieces of equipment, admire the stunning photographs on show and even help out with the judging of the British Society of Underwater Photographers’ Print Competition.
This year, what else would be next door to the show but man of steel and qualified diver Bear Grylls' Adventure course. Among the other challenges, the scuba adventure will see you trained by experienced personnel and embark on a diving voyage with over 1000 sea creatures. Experienced divers and those new to the sport are equally welcomed.
Over in DIVE, technical divers and those looking to ramp up their diving adventures will be sure to visit the TekDeck and TekPool, where you can try out technical diving equipment in the purpose-built pool and listen to talks from the experts.
The second try-dive pool is where complete beginners can make that first foray into diving in a safe, controlled environment under careful supervision.
Other talks and presentations to suit virtually every subaqua interest can be found over the weekend at DIVE. Choose from subjects like Christine Grosart's Croatian cave diving project to a session with David Jones, advocate for an overhaul on the use of plastics and cameraman of the film A Plastic Ocean, described by Sir David Attenborough as 'the most important film of our time'.
The DIVER stage will also be the setting for the announcement of of this year's DIVER awards winners. And as a side note, we'd really appreciate it if our customers would cast their vote for us in the applicable categories. You can vote here.
