Change is afoot
“The only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.” — Mark Zuckerberg, founder, Facebook
This sentiment is definitely shared by the team at Northern Diver. From our diversified equipment range to our custom product development, our Dive Tank to our latest building, we are not afraid to take calculated risks in order to support the growth of the business and to better serve you, our customers.
Take a look at the newest part of our Northern Diver HQ...
When people visit our offices and showroom, they're often taken aback by just how much we do all on one site. Our customers have always benefited from speedy delivery of goods which is made possible by our UK based warehouse and large stock holding. In the last few years, the company has experienced exceptional growth enabling us to look at expanding. And as always, our customers have been considered first and foremost.
That's why we're in the middle of constructing a three-storey warehouse opposite our current premises. This extension will be vital in ensuring the continued quality and efficiency our customers have come to expect. The expansion addresses one of the biggest issues we've had recently - with a growing number of customers and larger order quantities from those customers, we need enough room for a large stock holding onsite. Our stock levels have always helped set us apart from our competition, when time is of the essence ensuring our customers' can get a lot of products next day has enabled us to offer a continued quality service. The continuity of our supply chain is further strengthened with our site expansion, and at a time where there's so much economic uncertainty, we love being able to tell our customers that they don't need to worry about anything they buy from us.
Although, we're still in the building stage, our new warehouse is really taking shape.
Our newly appointed Warehouse Manager, Amair, is really excited to be involved in preparations and to get the place up and running from the onset. "Working for years in the warehouse industry means needing more space is a problem I've run into time and time again, so it's fantastic to work at Northern Diver where they've taken this need so seriously and have speedily decided to expand to eradicate the issue." With the help of our Warehouse team, we're looking forward to improving the efficiency and operational capacity of our Goods-in and Dispatch departments. In fact our team can't wait!
To see this project starting to become a reality has been a proud moment for our owner, directors and for the team of builders involved. It's been months in the planning and the project logistics haven't been easy. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the team involved in helping us move forward with our new warehouse.
The view from the new building, of the Apply Bridge quarry isn't half bad either.
UPDATE!
Friday 21st June
The warehouse completion date is on the horizon.
The cladding is almost finished and the windows and roller shutters are due to start being added next week. After that, we'll start adding the building's utilities, fixtures and fittings as well as a roller conveyor belt that'll be fitted between two of the warehouse floors. All getting us closer to having the warehouse up and running, not to mention making it a safe and more comfortable place to work.
We're really looking forward to the completion of this fantastic addition to Northern Diver HQ. We know the successful implementation and operation of this new warehouse will be a challenge, however, with the team we've got, it's one we're confident we'll meet head on.
And as you can see, the view from the top is still fantastic.
